Four Mile Lutheran Church to hold events
The following events are scheduled at Four Mile Lutheran Church ELCA during Holy Week and Easter 2017.
Maundy Thursday, April 13, Four Mile Lutheran will offer blessings in front of Buttermilk’s café in Canton from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We will also be offering drive-thru blessings and Holy Communion at the church from 2 to 5 p.m. for those unable to attend the evening services at 7 p.m. If you have been feeling separated from God lately, come home to the church for any of these special services,” church members stated.
The church will hold an event to “honor Jesus’ suffering and gift on the cross in a Tenebrae devotional and meditative service” at 7 p.m., April 14.
At 9:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, a breakfast will be held followed by an Easter egg hunt at 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday worship will follow the activities.

‘Son’rise service to be held at Melton Rock
A special Easter “Son”rise Service will be held at Melton Rock, Sunday, April 16.
The McNeills are scheduled to perform at the service. The McNeils are a “family with 10 children who all perform southern and country gospel, bluegrass and contemporary music. The family is set to begin singing at 6 a.m.
The service will begin at 6:45 a.m.
“This will be the 22nd annual service at the legendary local landmark, Melton Rock, and will be a service honoring the ministry, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and all denominations are welcome.
The Rev. Sam Pendyala will bring the message, and the special music will be provided by The McNeills and Brand New Touch. Everyone is encouraged to dress casual and warm, and wear tennis shoes. Church vans and busses are welcome, and everyone should bring a lawn chair, as the service may last about an hour,” remarked event organizers.

St. Justin’s Church sets events
St. Justin’s Episcopal Church will celebrate Maundy Thursday, Washing of Feet with Holy Eucharist service at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 13. There will not be Holy Saturday services this year, organizers said. The Celebration of Easter Sunday and Holy Eucharist service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday April 16. The service will begin with the "Flowering of the Cross" done by all children attending. The annual Easter Egg Hunt with refreshments will follow the Easter service. “All young children are encouraged to bring their empty basket to church, the public is welcome to attend,” said organizers. St. Justin’s Episcopal Church is located at 997 W Hwy 243 in Canton.
Wallace UMC to hold Easter sunrise service
Wallace United Methodist Church located at 151 VZCR 2501, Canton, will hold an Easter Sunrise service at 7 a.m., April 16 outside next to the three crosses located on church grounds (weather permitting.)
“If inclement weather occurs, services will be held in our sanctuary. There will be a pancake breakfast and Easter egg hunt following the service. The event is open to the public,” church members said.
