A double by Tyler Massey in the bottom of the sixth inning brought home Simon Miller, Hunter Moore and Johnnie Krawietz.
The Canton Eagles have turned the race for the District 13-4A title into a runaway, picking up wins over both Emory Rains and Mabank over the past week to stay undefeated through seven district games. In the process, Canton has virtually assured itself a district championship, needing only a win in any of its last three games or losses by both Mabank and Brownsboro.
The Eagles dispatched Rains with relative ease April 12, needing just five innings to score a 16-6 win over the Wildcats.
Canton teed off on Rains' pitching throughout the night, scoring three runs in the home half and never looking back for the 10-run win.
Four Canton players, Blayne Clower, John Adams, Simon Miller and Johnnie Krawietz each finished with multi-hit games.
Clower went 2/4 with two stolen bases with three runs scored, Adams finished 2/3 with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored, Miller finished 2/3 with a stolen base, 2 RBI and three runs scored, and Krawietz went 2/3 with 4 RBI and a run scored.
Other leading hitters for Canton included Cade Shaw going 1/4 with a double and three runs scored, Tyler Massey going 1/2 with a run scored and McGwire Martin going 1/3 with an RBI.
