Joshua Carrier, 38, of Canton was arrested by Constable Pct. 2 Jesse Ison Thursday, April 20 for illegally dumping tires.

Carrier was charged with illegal dumping >200 pounds or >200 CFT, which is a state jail felony. Carrier’s bond was set at $10,000. Carrier bonded out April 21.

“The arrest of Carrier has been a long time coming. We have been investigating the illegal tire dumps since June 2016,” said Constable Ison.

Constable Ison remarked that 300 tires had been dumped over the course of a year.

“We began to set up surveillance to see if we could catch whomever was dumping the tires. But, we received a tip from a citizen that helped our investigation. He would come every other week and throw 32 to 34 tires out. We witnessed him throwing out the tires in less than two minutes. He would turn his lights off and back up to the ditch and then dump them.”

The night of Carrier’s arrest, Constable Ison said that Carrier dumped 715 pounds of tires.

According to Constable Ison, Carrier had been dumping tires on County Roads 2209, 2411, 2403 and 2147.
