Saline Creek Lake able to provide water to 24k

AT&T customers might see an improvement in their cellular service in the future due to a new tower lease agreement between the Canton City Council and AT&T.

The lease agreement was approved for a new cell phone tower on First Monday Grounds. AT&T will replace a 100-foot tower with a 140-foot tower to improve service at their expense.

In 2016, the city built a cell tower to specifications provided by AT&T; however, customers with AT&T cited dropped calls and lack of reliable service as complaints.

A representative from AT&T said that the new tower will potentially improve the service of AT&T customers, but the project could not be started until the end of July.

The second and final survey report on the topography/hydrology study on Saline Creek was presented to the council June 20.

On May 16, results of the topography map of the Saline Creek area were presented and determined that no structures or homes would be affected by the lake.

The City of Canton hired Johnson & Pace Inc. of Longview to conduct the study of the Saline Creek area. Joe Hart presented the information on the second study June 20.
