Lavada Daniel

Services for Lavada Daniel, 90, of Athens, were held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. Jim Myers officiating. Interment followed in Haven of Memories. Mrs. Daniel passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, in Athens.

She was born March 12, 1927, in Yantis to Clyde and Gladys Estelle Pruden Wooten. She grew up in the China Grove Community and went to Martins Mill High School.

She was a member of the Living for the Brand Cowboy Church in Athens. She sang in the China Grove Ladies Quartet for many years.

She was a wonderful homemaker as her children grew up and she served others in the community. She could cook anything, sew anything, and grow anything.

Mrs. Daniel is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, Aubrey Daniel; brother, Herman “Sonny” Wilkerson, Jr.; and sister, Nita Jones.

She is survived by her son, Michael and Nancy Daniel of Murchison; daughter, Donna and Perry Smith of Athens; four grandchildren, Jared and Marcia Smith, Nathan and Jodi Smith, Ron and Meredith Daniel and Doug and Tammy Daniel; five great-grandchildren, Maddie Smith, Kurtlee Smith, Swayze Smith, Andrew Daniel and Philip Daniel; and sister, Faye Bloodworth. Pallbearers were Jared Smith, Nathan Smith, Ron Daniel and Doug Daniel.
