John Bolin and Joy Harris will present, “Forever Christmas” at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17.
John and Joy grew up in Canton while their father was Minister of Music at Lakeside. John and Joy are both on staff at Houston’s First Baptist Church where John serves as the Minister of Worship and Arts and Joy leads the Children’s Choir Ministry.
They had begun rehearsals for this year’s pageant but then Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston region.
The church made the decision to cancel this year’s Christmas Pageant to allow their people to be active in the community assisting families putting their homes and lives back together rather than at the church in rehearsal.
John and Joy are both alumni of California Baptist University. At Houston’s First Baptist, John rebuilt the choir and orchestra program, launched a School of Fine Arts in 2012, reinstated all student and children’s worship programs and is an advocate for the power of multi-generational worship.
“Lakeside Baptist Church cordially invites the community to share in this unique and worshipful night of Christmas music.,” said church officials.
Lakeside Baptist Church is located on Old Kaufman Road in Canton.
