Lela Jo Hawkins 1933-2018

Services for Lela Jo Hawkins, 84, of Canton, were held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. Dan Tarno and Bro. Mark Robinson officiating. Interment was in Haven of Memories.

She passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Canton. She was born June 2, 1933 in the Jackson Community to Gordon Kellis and Linnie V. Wyatt Malone.
She retired from the Garland School District after 23 years. She also worked for Gold Star Assisted Living in Canton for six years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kellis and Linnie Malone; her husband, Troy “Shorty” Hawkins; and a brother, Jarrell Malone.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Randy and Susie Hawkins of Royse City; two daughters and their husbands, Cendy and Dan Tarno and Kristi and Keith Everitt, both of Canton; four grandchildren, Melody Tarno, Cody Hawkins, Kandice Everitt and K’Lynn Bechtel; four great-grandchildren, Trevor Tarno, Brittney Baker, Brendan Tucker and Gentry Rose Hawkins; two great-great-grandchildren, Linley Baker and Jayde Hackney; two sisters, Betty Perkins of Canton and Donna Stevens of South Lake; and two brothers, Charles Malone and Danny Malone, both of Rowlett.

Pallbearers were Bruce Hawkins, Steven Hawkins, Cody Hawkins, Marty Hawkins, Lance Green, Trevor Tarno, Brian Malone, Brad Malone and Delane Malone.
