Season ends in Area round

Canton’s run through the 2015 baseball playoffs came to an end on May 15, with the Bullard Panthers mustering just enough offense in back-to-back games to sweep the Eagles in their Area round match-up.

Game one of the series was originally scheduled to be played on May 14, but Mother Nature, a foe of virtually every team throughout the entire season, resulted in a one game delay to the proceedings.

Game one of the series was dominated by Bullard lefty Zach Eschberger, who kept Canton bats in check with a complete game one-hitter in a 2-0 Panther win.

Eschberger nearly picked up a no-hitter in the game, but Canton’s Cole Sullivan delivered a no out double in the seventh.

Canton starter Hunter Moore nearly matched Eschberger pitch for pitch, allowing two unearned runs due to a fourth inning fielding error in a complete game effort of his own.
