Students in Jonell Randall's second grade class at Canton Elementary are learning about the states of matter in science.  They wore their lab coats to get in the true spirit of being scientists.

End of First nine weeks

Monday, Oct. 26 -Red Ribbon Week begins.  Elementary, Intermediate and Jr. High students are urged to wear red. Students at CHS are asked to check with the high school staff for information of themes.

Tuesday, Oct. 27 - Red Ribbon Week Tues. Elementary and Intermediate schools are urged to wear neon colors. Jr. High -Team Up Against Drugs-Twin Day. There will also be a Junior High Drama Class Field Trip.

Registration is now open for Credit by Examination at Canton High School.

Any student in grades nine through 12 may register to take exams for courses in which they have received prior instruction but did not receive credit or to earn credit for academic courses for which they have had no prior instruction.

The deadline to register for Credit by Examination is Oct. 19.  

Registration forms are available in the counseling office.

Fall Picture Day is Friday, Oct. 16, at Canton Junior High. Fundraiser delivery is also on Friday, Oct. 16. The Book Fair will also end Friday, Oct. 16.

Class dues are due for seniors and juniors if a student wants to attend prom. See Leslie Corey to pay dues.

Exit Level TAKS will be given Oct. 19 through 22.

The counseling department is looking for student tutors in several classes. If you are interested in earning volunteer hours as a tutor, see counselors Prissy Sweat or Susie Dorman.

There will be a mandatory senior class meeting during the advisory period Thursday, Oct.15.  The meeting will be in the auditorium.

Oct. 21 - Junior High AR closes for the first nine weeks.
