Services for Gordon Deen Allen, 78, of Grand Saline, were held Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.

He passed away Nov. 18, 2016, in Athens.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1937, in Wills Point to Andrew and Norine Wilson Allen.

He graduated from Wills Point High School where he played football and basketball. He married his loving wife, Novell, on Jan. 16, 1957.  Mr. Allen worked at NL Shutte Drilling Company for 42 years. After he retired, he enjoyed working on his farm and tending his cows. He loved his family and his granddaughters were his pride and joy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Allen; mother and father-in-law, Inez and Leroy White; brother-in-law, Vernon Walls; and sister-in-law, Cleta Shelton.

Services for Gary “Coach” Glenn Fain, 60, of Canton, were held Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton, with Bro. Mark Moore officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home. I

nterment followed at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill. He passed away Nov. 26, 2016, in Dallas.
He was born Jan. 17, 1956, in Fort Worth to Jimmie Murphy, who raised him with Eugene Murphy. He grew up in Dallas with his brothers, Harold and David. During his childhood he enjoyed sports and was an active member of the Boy Scouts. He earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout and was elected as a vigil of the Order of the Arrow.

He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1978, and married the love of his life, Sharon on June 2, 1979.

Services for Clyde A. Thomas, Sr., 96, of Canton, were held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Mike Roberson officiating.  Interment followed in Haven of Memories. 

Mr. Thomas passed away Nov. 19, 2016, in Canton. 

He was born July 7, 1920, in Trinidad to Johnny and Tommie D. Stroud Thomas. 

While serving in the Army, he was in the Cavalry.  He lived most of his life in Canton where he was a member of First Baptist Church. He served over 40 years with the Canton Volunteer Fire Department.  He sold real estate for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He especially loved his "Ruthie" and his family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Clyde Jr. and Larry Thomas; and grandchildren, Mitzi, Bret and Tye Thomas.

Services for Brian Keith Peel, 29, of Henderson were held Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Mike Roberson officiating.  Interment followed at Haven of Memories Memorial Park.

He passed away Nov. 18, 2016, in Henderson.  He was born on Jan. 20, 1987, in Dallas to Donald Keith and Dena Deanna Hammer Peel. 

Mr. Peel was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. He grew up in Canton and worked for Scan Drill in West Texas.  He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Top and Lena Peel, Lelan and Oscar Callahan, and Fannie Lourene Hendrex; and great-great- grandmother, Jimmie Smith.

Services for Barbara Jean Johnson, 82, of Canton, were held Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at  Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Taylor Robinson officiating.  Interment followed in Haven of Memories. 

Mrs. Johnson passed away Nov. 18, 2016, in Tyler. 

She was born Feb. 13, 1934, in Amarillo to Herman Aubrey and Lucille Melba Smith Turner. 

She was an active member of Crossroads Church in Canton.  She was a prayer warrior and loved evangelism. She loved playing Parcheesi with her grandchildren, playing dominoes, camping, baking and reading. She lived in Amarillo for many years and still has many friends and relatives there.

Billy Ray Ramsey

Services for Billy Ray Ramsey, 82, of Edgewood, were held Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Pastor David Hicks and C.E. Vaughan officiating.  Interment followed in Haven of Memories. 

Mr. Ramsey passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at his home.  He was born Jan. 7, 1934, in Colfax to Loy Jefferson and Norene Brown Ramsey. 

He was Baptist by faith and a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and Hella Shrine.  He was a Master Mason.  He owned and operated Ramsey Trailer Sales for 35 years in Myrtle Springs on Interstate 20.  He was well known to many in the surrounding area with a reputation of fair and honest business practices to all walks of life.    

He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lou Ramsey; his parents; brothers, Bobby Wallace, Robert Wallace; and a sister, Lois Murphy.

Funeral services for Anne Marie Graves, 23, of Grapevine, were held Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Coppell Bible Fellowship, under the direction of J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home in Grapevine, with Dr. Barkef K. Osigian III officiating.

Burial followed at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. She passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, in Grapevine.

She was born in Santa Clarita, Calif. to Martin Ray and Sherly Ann Shields Graves on Sept. 27, 1993. She spent her early years in California until her family moved to Grapevine when she was 12.

In high school, she enjoyed being part of the choir at Grapevine Faith Christian High School and performed with them on the stage of Carnegie Hall on two different occasions.

She was a talented amateur photographer.

A memorial service for Thomas Clyde McQuagge III, 47, was held Nov. 5, 2016, at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, officiated by Brother Dan Tarno. Music by Brother Tarno was ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘The Light House’; music by Stan Buck was ‘Just a Closer Walk with Thee,’ ‘I’ll Fly Away’ and ‘How Great Thou Art.’ The service was attended by many friends and relatives and was a sweet celebration of life.

He was born Oct. 26, 1969, and went to be with the Lord Nov. 3, 2016.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Clyde McQuagge Jr.; grandparents, Howard and Mae Buck and Anna Bell and Jr Cundiff.

Services for Troyce Casey, 83, of Canton, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. Craig Locke officiating.  Interment will be in Haven of Memories. 

Mr. Casey passed away November 12, 2016, in Tyler.  He was born May 23, 1933, in Canton to William Isom and Essie Corine Wilkerson Casey. 

He was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church and the Castilian Lodge.  He was a life-long resident of Canton and never met a stranger.  He owned and operated Casey’s Catfish for many years. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Wanda F. Casey; and son-in-law, Lester Keller.
