Services for Bonny Louis Sumner, 78, of Canton were held Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Mike Newby officiating.

Entombment was at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton. He passed away on Dec. 3, 2017, in Canton.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1939, in Canton, to Laymon Sumner and Juanita Montgomery Sumner.

Wilson LeGrand Wade

Wilson LeGrand Wade

1943-2017

A memorial celebration will be held at a later date for Wilson LeGrand Wade, 74, Canton. Mr. Wade passed away Nov. 20, 2017, in Canton.

He was born Oct. 18, 1943, in Graham. He had been a resident of Canton for 14 years, formerly living in Bowie. He graduated from Merkel High School in 1962, and attended Navarro College and Abilene Christian. He served in the Army Reserves and retired after a career in sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Wade and Dorothy Wade; and brother, Danny Wade.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda N. Wade of Canton; three children, Allyson Wade Rhone (Joe) of Midland, Justin Wade (Laurie) of Flower Mound, and Chance Wade (Bonnie Gardner) of Bowie; four grandchildren, Charlie Rhone and Nancy Rhone of Midland, and Emily Wade and Gracie Wade of Flower Mound.

Services for Vestel Buford, 86, of Athens, were held Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Lough officiating. Interment followed in Zion Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Buford passed away at his home Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017.

He was born November 23, 1930, in the Walton Community.

He was a member of the Christian Center Church in Mesquite and MAPS. He grew up in the Walton Community and graduated from Martins Mill High School. He married the love of his life, Ruthie Shelton, October 20, 1950.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and a brother.

Pamela Anne McWilliams Medina

A memorial service for Pamela Anne Medina, 60, was held Nov. 18, 2017, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. She passed away Nov. 13, 2017, from a painful illness, cancer.

She was born April 5, 1957, in Floydada. She graduated from Canton High School and later moved to Tyler with her friend, Phyllis Bishop, and worked at different jobs bookkeeping and clerking, and the job she enjoyed the most, waitressing.

Services for Bobby Leb Butler, 72, of Grand Saline, were held Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Todd Turner officiating. Interment followed in Creagleville Cemetery.

Mr. Butler passed away Nov. 25, 2017, in a Tyler hospice facility. He was born Oct. 31, 1945 in Grand Saline.

Jean Louise Vande Lune, 82, of West Tawakoni, went to be with Jesus, Nov. 5, 2017, in Greenville.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Quinlan with Eric Rothe officiating.

She was born March 21, 1935, to Robert and Gertrude Sudds in Los Angeles, Calif. She was raised in California and married Thomas L. Vande Lune May 26, 1959.

She retired from A&M Research Center, Natural Foods and Fiber Commission in 1997 after 30 plus years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Quinlan. She loved her friends and was very blessed to have her community and her church family.

H.O. ‘Bud’ Taylor

Services for H.O. “Bud” Taylor were held Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel in Mabank with the Rev. Eston Williams officiating.

Interment followed the service at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.

Mr. Taylor, at the age of 86, passed away at his home in Mabank on Nov. 14, 2017. He was born June 13, 1931 in Cobbs Switch (Kaufman County) to Atha (Dossett) and Wm. Oscar Taylor.

He grew up in Quinlan. He married Wanda Degges in 1952.He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1990. He enjoyed being outdoors; hunting and fishing. He really enjoyed hunting squirrel, dove and quail. He attended Aley United Methodist Church. He was a man that many people loved and he will truly be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Hazel.

Services for Jimmie Louise Beverly, 85, of Athens, were held Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating.

Mrs. Beverly passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at her home in Athens.

She was born Jan. 2, 1932 in Dallas to Edward Greeson and Ada Mae Mayes.

She attended school in Oak Cliff where she grew up. She married Jerry Ray Beverly and they moved to Desoto. She worked in the banking business for 40 years and moved to Athens in 1986. She enjoyed sewing, canning and dancing in her spare time. She loved, and was loved, by all her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Tundra Baptist Church in Canton.

William Hardy Wilburn

Services for William H. Wilburn will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at the Solid Rock Church, 11085 N. Hwy. 19, Athens.

Mr. Wilburn passed away Nov. 11, 2017, due to complications of congestive heart failure.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William (Jack) and Frances Wilburn.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Wilburn; sisters, Elizabeth Everett and Jean Berry; children, Keith Wilburn and Amanda McEnturff; grandchildren, Allison and Trinity McEnturff, and Travis Wilburn.
