Funeral services for Frances Pearl Haney Jones, 92, of Emory, were held Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.

Interment followed at Pilgrims Rest #1 Cemetery. 

Bro. Billy Smith and Bro. David Hendricks officiated.  Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Jones died Feb. 18, 2016, at Senior Suite Care and Rehab in Forney.

She was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Emory.

Funeral services for Dewey Leon Hipp Jr., 76, of Wills Point, were held Feb. 19, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. 

Interment was at Small Cemetery in Edgewood.

Mr. Hipp died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2016, at his residence in Wills Point.

He was born July 21, 1939, in Dallas, the son of Dewey Leon Hipp Sr. and Lela Mae Malone Hipp.  He was raised in Dallas, but has lived in Wills Point most of his life.

On March 10, 1961, he married Judith Lorene Garner near Dallas.  He was formerly employed as a carpet layer for Foster Brothers in Dallas, retiring in 2004. 

He enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Carolyn Sue Kellum Hill, 75, mayor of Emory, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at her home.

Funeral services were held Feb. 21, 2016, at the Emory Baptist Church.  Bro. Wayne Wolfe and Bro. Richard Pyles officiated.

Interment followed at Emory City Cemetery. 

She was born Nov. 23, 1940, in Dallas.

Mr. Monk died Feb. 11, 2016, at his home in Grand Saline. 

He was born June 27, 1961, in Lubbock.

Memorial services for Paula Kay Meili, 68, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.

Mrs. Meili died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 11, 2016, in Wills Point.

She was born Dec. 31, 1947, in Beaver Dam, Wis., the daughter of Victor and Carolyn Mills.  She was raised in Fox Lake, Wis., where she graduated from Waupun High School.  

She married Howard Hull and they were married for 18 years.  She was employed by the City of Canton as an accountant, retiring five years ago due to her failing health. 

She enjoyed quilting and crafts. 

She lived in Plano prior to moving to Canton 12 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Carolyn Mills and a son, Troy Hull.

Allen Wayne Jefferson, 60, of Emory, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at his home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory.

Interment followed at Lynch Cemetery in East Tawakoni. Sister Anita Conley officiated.

Mr. Jefferson was born Oct. 26, 1955, in Greenville.

Algie Lucretia Harris died Feb. 11, 2016, at the age of 95 at Ridgecrest Heath Care in Forney.

She was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Van Zandt County to William Hiram and Martha L. Nora Fowler Corley.

Before moving to Forney, she was a longtime resident of Canton and was a member of Tundra Baptist Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one sister, Iris Dillard of Forney; nephew, Charles Archer and wife Sherrie of Canton; nephew, Garry Dillard and wife, Becky of Edgewood and niece, Janice Morris and husband, Mike of Dallas.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating.

Graveside services were held at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell.

Wiley Eugene Wilson, 87, Wills Point, died Feb. 3, 2016, at his home.

Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Dallas to the late Wiley Clifton Wilson and Effie Malissa Louisa Wilson. He had served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and worked for the City of Dallas.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Etoise Ranne-Wilson; children, Cathy Darlene Lewis, Patricia Ann Wilson and Michael Wilson; step-children, Phillip Clinton Ranne and Michael Edward Ranne; sisters, Myrtie, Estell, Ester and Essie; grandchild, Tara Michelle Nawrocki; step-grandchildren, Whittney Michelle Ranne and Brittney Lynn Howel; and great-grandchildren, McKenna Rule, Finley Grace Couch and Sterling Maddox Howel.

Robert H. Power died surrounded by his loving family Feb. 1, 2016. 

A remarkable man of great honor and integrity, he was born in McCool, Miss., and moved as a young man to Texas where he was embraced by a community of supportive friends in Irving and began compiling a legacy of accomplishments.

After graduating from North Texas State University and Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1958, he served as Assistant District Attorney for Dallas County and then established a private law practice in Irving where he continued to work into his late 70s. 

His extensive record of community service, with his calm demeanor and wise counsel benefitting so many governing bodies and advisory boards, resulted in numerous progressive improvements in North Texas.
