Donald Partin

1935 –2016

 

Donald Wayne Partin, 80, of Ben Wheeler, was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Union Valley to the late William Claude Partin and Christine Tina McCasland Partin. 

Mr. Partin died Jan. 20, 2016, at his home.  He worked as dispatcher for Central Freight Lines and was bus driver and a member of First United Methodist Church of Chandler. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rose Marie Ross Partin; sister, Oneta Key; and brothers, Raymond Partin and Joseph Partin. 

Survivors include his wife, Deborah June Waits Partin of Ben Wheeler; three children, Barbara Breuninger and husband, Robert of Garland, Tina Upchurch of Indiana and Jerry Partin and wife, Deborah of San Antonio; three granddaughters; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren; and special niece Raylane Partin.

Claudia McKenzie Allen, 61, died due to complications from multiple sclerosis Jan. 21, 2016.

Mrs. Allen was born to Paul and Modene McKenzie Sept. 3, 1954. 

She was a lifelong resident of Van and a 1973 graduate of Van High School.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard Allen of Van; a son, Steven Allen of Quinlan and a daughter, MSgt Amanda Callahan, currently stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany.  She was a proud grandmother of two, Madison Daniel and Justin Legal; and a loving sister to Glen and Mariko McKenzie of Aubrey and Paulette Kindle of Mineola.

She doted on her three nieces and two nephews, as well as their children.

Memorial services for Charles Edward Cash, 73, of Edgewood, were held Jan. 25, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Bro. Mark Robinson officiating.

Mr. Cash died Jan. 18, 2016 in Edgewood.

He was born July 20, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, to Raymond Edgar and Lavina Hohnhorst Cash.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He owned and operated Sulphur Springs Hydraulics and later C & L Hydraulic and Machine Shop in Edgewood.  He was a member of the Lake Country Antique Tractor Club and enjoyed helping the Sulphur Springs FFA with numerous projects for the kids involved. He was always found working, loved farming, John Deere tractors and RFD TV. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and Tammy Cash.

Kenneth Wayne Burden Sr., 68, died peacefully Jan. 18, 2016, with his loving family by his side.

He was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Midlothian to Gedra Allison Burden Sr. and Lillian Burden.

Mr. Burden was a loving father and grandfather who loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. He enjoyed spending every moment with his adoring family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gedra Burden Sr. and Lilian Burden; brothers, Victor Burden and Gedra Burden Jr.; and sister, Vergie Turnage.

Funeral service for Peyton Joe Pilkinton was held Jan. 14, 2016, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bro. Jerry Tadlock.  Interment followed in Emory City Cemetery.  He was born Jan. 8, 2016, and died the same day at Baylor Medical Center at McKinney.

Nola Fern Teel was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Van Zandt County.

Mrs. Teel went to be with the Lord Jan. 10, 2016.

She was the youngest of six children born to William Albert and Walker Annie Westmoreland. She was raised in Watkins Community near Canton. After graduating from Canton High School, she moved to Dallas and went to business school. Her first job was with Decker Meat Packing Company. She later worked for Sears, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Metzgers Dairy, Dallas County in the tax assessor-collectors office and later at the French Flair Beauty Salon. She married S.M. Teel Jr. Dec. 8, 1947.

She is preceded in death by her husband, S.M. Teel of 46 years; parents, William and Walker Westmoreland; brothers, Clarence Westmoreland, Athol Westmoreland, and Irby Westmoreland: sisters, Odelle Priest and Ruby Lee Priest.

Services for Mary Evelyne Hendrix, 86, of Canton, were held Dec. 23, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Beau Cox officiating. Interment was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hendrix was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Dallas to James and Bama May Gibbs.

She died Dec. 21, 2015, in Canton.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. She was married 57 years to her husband, Eugene Hendrix.  She cared about her family deeply, she loved to cook, bake, and take care of her home.

In addition to her home, she also had a successful career at American National Bank in Canton as a banking officer.  

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene “Pete” Hendrix; and great–grandson, Jacob Wesley Norrell.

Services for Jewell "Sam" Lorene Scott, 70, of Grand Saline, were held Jan.13, 2016, at Bartley Funeral Home with Sis Delana Wheeler officiating.

Mrs. Scott died Jan. 9, 2016, in Grand Saline. 

She was born Dec. 3, 1945, in Grand Saline to Merlin McCoy and Ada Venes McKnight Harris .  Sam was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence Harris, Leonard Harris, Larry Harris, Troy Harris and Kenneth Harris; and sisters, Kathy Jones and Shirley Harris.

She is survived by her son, Kirby Scott Jr.; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sandi Harris;  daughter, Judy Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Bobby Thompson; two brothers, Terry Harris and Russell Harris; sister, Deborah Owens; sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Rickie Taylor; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Elwin Paul Cannon, 86, of Emory, were held Jan. 15, 2016, at House of Prayer in Emory.  Bro. Kenneth Ishmael and Bro. Matt Miller officiated. 

Burial will follow at a later date at DFW National Cemetery.

Mr. Cannon was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Butler, Okla.
