A private memorial service was held for Sharon Stanger Clarkson, 64, of Ben Wheeler.   Bro. Larry Shackelford officiated. 

Mrs. Clarkson died Dec. 4, 2015, in Ben Wheeler.  She was born May 26, 1951, in Grand Saline to the late Lavern Rudolph and Wilma Jean Shinn Stanger. 

She was a member of the Colfax Baptist Church.  She became a registered nurse and worked for both medical and mental health facilities for 37 years.   Sharon enjoyed playing the piano and started playing for her family church as a young girl.  She loved fishing at her pond and spending time with her family and loved ones.

Services for Patricia Ann Sockwell, 63, of Mesquite, were held Dec. 12, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton.  Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Martins Mill.

Mrs. Sockwell was a faithful member at House of Prayer Church of God in Christ in Wills Point under the leadership of the late Edward Hardin until her health failed.

She was born in Canton to Willie and Easter Fitzgerald Aug. 16, 1952. She was united in marriage to the late James Radolph Sockwell  Oct. 28, 1972. To this union were born four children, Felesia and Billy Hamilton of Mesquite, Surine Sockwell of Athens, James R. Sockwell II of Athens and Crystal Sockwell of Tyler.

Services for Mike "Woody" Woodrum, 56, of Fruitvale, were held Dec. 17, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Homer Morgan and Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.

Interment was in Rogers Cemetery.

Mr. Woodrum died Dec. 13, 2015, at his home in Fruitvale.  He was born Sep. 30, 1959, in Dallas.

Services for Henry McNair, 68, of Wills Point, were held Dec. 15, 2015, at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton, with Bro. Mark Moore officiating.

Mr. McNair died Dec. 10, 2015, in Wills Point.

He was born Jan. 17, 1947 in Dallas to William Harold McNair and Velma Mitchell McNair.

He grew up in Dallas and graduated from W.W. Samuel High School in 1965. He joined the U.S. Navy the same year and served his country for the next 10 years. On April 1, 1967, he married Brenda Fountain and they spent several years on the East Coast. After his discharge from the Navy, he and Brenda settled in Garland where they raised their children.

In 1991, when the children where grown, the two moved to Wills Point so they could raise horses. His favorite past time was trail riding and camping. He was also a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton.

Services for Carolyn Kay Carter Easley, 59, of Canton were held Dec. 15, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Steve Closup and Pastor Mike Nelson officiating. 

Interment was at Haven of Memories in Canton.

Mrs. Easley died Dec. 13, 2015, in Tyler.

She was born Sept. 24, 1956, in Athens to John Harley and Mary Elizabeth Highnote Carter.

She was a Christian by faith.  She and her husband, Danny, were married for seven years.  She enjoyed fishing, reading, puzzles and working in her yard.  She loved Christmas time, especially since the arrival of the beloved grandchildren.  She adored her little dogs, Dolly and Dotson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Austin Easley; and stepdaughter, April Easley.

Services for Santos Jose, 55, of Grand Saline, were held Dec. 8, 2015, at Main Street Baptist Church with Pastor Tobias Palma and Juan Valdez officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Interment was in Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Jose died Dec. 4, 2015, in Tyler.  He was born Jan. 24, 1960, in San Nicolas, Hidalgo-Mexico.

William Charlie “Bud” Adams, 82 of Martins Mill died peacefully at home  Dec. 6, 2015.  Although born in Padukah on the Matador Ranch where his father worked at the time, he spent most of his childhood years in DeKalb.  He served four years in the U.S. Army primarily in Europe.  He married Mary Richards in 1958.  Prior to moving to the Martins Mill community, they lived 39 years in Scurry.

Mr. Adams was a devout and righteous man having served as an elder with the Scurry Church of Christ as well as the Central Church of Christ.  He retired from the Dallas Fire Department in 1983 after 27 years of service.  During his life, he also enjoyed carpentry and farming with a special love for growing watermelons.

Services for Wanda Polley, 53, of Myrtle Springs were held Dec. 2, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. Ronnie Daniell officiating. 

Burial was in Haven of Memories.

Ms. Polley died Nov. 29, 2015 in Myrtle Springs.  She was born May 18, 1962, in Hurst.

She was a Baptist by faith.  She lived most of her life in Myrtle Springs.  She graduated from Canton High School in 1980.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Allen Hardin of Canton and Donald Polley of Wills Point; daughter, Jessica Craft of Myrtle Springs; three grandchildren, Jodhi Hardin, Mason Hardin and Case Ethan Polley; father, Roger Waldner of Mabank; mother, Doye and Jim Fuller of Canton; five brothers, David Waldner, Jimmy Fuller, Jack Fuller, Jay Fuller and Joe Fuller all of Canton; and a sister, Jana Conder of Canton.

Services for Lela Mae Mills were held Dec. 1, 2015, at Anderson Clayton Brothers Chapel in Kemp with Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. Interment followed the service at Shiloh Cemetery in Kemp.

Mrs. Mills was born April 8, 1923, in Kemp to parents Henry Clay Melton and Rosie Elizabeth Collier and entered into eternal rest Nov. 29, 2015, at the age of 92.

She loved being a mother, caring for her kids and others. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and watching westerns. She loved raising cows and baby calves and also loved attending cattle sales. She was a faithful member of the Edgewood Church of Christ. She was a loving and caring lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mr. Ely was born July 25, 1934.

Cremation and service arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory.
