Wouldn’t you like to fly in our beautiful balloons?

Well, I’ve been writing about it for months now and if you haven’t heard … there is a balloon festival coming this weekend to the west side of the First Monday grounds.

If you haven’t heard, the city of Canton will be hosting the Fourth Annual Tailwind Regional Balloon Fest on the west side of the First Monday ground this Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16.

Festival entry will cost $10 per adult and anyone 12 and under will get in for free.  On Friday, we will open the gates at 4 p.m. giving you just enough time to round the kids up and get out there.  You can expect to see numerous food and craft vendors as well as bounce houses, a petting zoo and so much more.

At 6:30 p.m. there will be a performance by Breaking Southwest, and if the weather is good to us, at about 7 p.m. you can expect to see some balloons taking off into the evening sky.

Walking with Bob

Get the right advice right

I walked into the gym, walking stick in hand and the owner had himself an elderly potential customer in his sight. He got my “bumblefud” act in prime time action. He wanted to sell me a lifetime membership to instant health and I wanted to question one of his trainers whose name is known by competitive weight lifters everywhere. I won the battle and got my way. Yes, I know when to act old and pitiful. I came for advice from a pro, who walks the talk. After 76 years of too many mistakes, I only listen to healthy athletes who practice what they preach.

The mother of all problems?

Who’s your one?

Facing so many needs today, it is hard to know who to help or where to start. Do I help cancer victims, the hungry, the homeless, an abused woman’s shelter? For the most part, Americans are a generous people but it is hard to know how to help or where our help is needed most. The question you may have faced is, “who do I help?” Jesus obviously met people on a daily basis.
