The Greatest Miracle

The greatest miracle in all the time

When Christ Jesus walked on earth

Begotten by His Father God

Conceived by virgin birth.

In Him God’s word became flesh

Never to be another

He taught and healed and raised the dead

Given birth by a virgin mother.

The Spirit of God was on Him

His blood has cleaning power

He defeated Satan on Calvary Cross

Showed him his final hour.

He walked forth from Calvary’s grave

Never to die any more

He rules and reigns for all eternity

His throne on Heaven’s shore.

He will return one glorious day

His glory to receive

The ones who rise and go with Him

Are those who believe.

All lives matter

As more details of the tragic death of Harris County Sheriff Deputy Darren Goforth unfold, a morbid reality is unveiled about America’s negative attitude toward our law enforcement officers.
It must end now or we run the risk of fewer men and women willing to go into the profession and families insisting their spouses change careers.

Walking With Bob

OK to fail but not OK to quit

The first three days of the week were out of my control. Bad weather, unexpected visits and a change of plans at work. These are things that just happen. Our routine gets wacky.

Standing up for rural postal delivery

Post offices are crucial anywhere, but especially crucial in rural areas that depend on the postal service to stay connected through news delivery,
services crucial to businesses, and, in some communities, a link to prescription drugs and other services.

September Mom

September is here, you just can’t wait, you’ll have so much spare time,

You’ll start your diet and exercise, your life will be just fine.

(But then reality sets in!)

Don’t forget your books today, your papers and your lunch,

I’ll start the car and check the gas, enough but not by much!

If all the lights are green today and people move along,

We will make the school with time to spare, you’ll be where you belong.

The grocery list is here somewhere, I’ll find it on the way,

The shopping done-just find the card, with which the bill to pay.

Hurry home to laundry and dishes in the sink,

Pick up the clothes and clean the floors, how much coffee did I drink?

The rest I planned to take today just disappeared somehow,

It’s nearly time to pick up the kids, I’ll start the dinner now.

When evening comes and all are home, a minutes rest at last,

Celebrate working men, women

Labor Day holiday honors those ‘who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold’

Labor Day is a bit of a misnomer. While it may seem like a day devoted to work, many workers in the United States don’t work at all on Labor Day.

Labor Day is much more than the unofficial end to summer.

While road trips and backyard barbecues are now staples of Labor Day, the origins of the holiday bear little resemblance to the celebrations of today.

Labor Day in the United States dates back to the 19th century, though its origins are still debated by historians.

Walking with Bob

Begin with the end in mind

In Stephen Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, he struck a nerve with me in my walk to be healthy. On June 12, 2006 I made a decision to walk every day. At that time my blood pressure was still bad. It was down from 204 over 105 but I was still relying on expensive pills. My great Doc was advising me to do better with my dieting and my exercising and my sleep habits. That day I started to practice what I have been preaching as a goal setting motivational speaker, teacher and entrepreneur. Start every day with the end in mind.
