Donald Dunn

1939-2017

Services for Donald Ray “Deacon” Dunn, 77, of Farmers Branch, were held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bobby Dagnel officiating.

He passed away March 8, 2017, in Plano.

He was born June 26, 1939, in Ben Wheeler to Orban Malcom and Loyce Williams Dunn. He was an entrepreneur, having owned two restaurants and a landscape business. Before retiring, he drove for Albertson’s for 10 years.

Darlene Calhoun

1946-2017

Darlene Calhoun, age 70, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in Tyler, at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital.  She was born Dec. 9, 1946, in San Antonio, to Richard Lewis and Flora Mae Reynolds Easley.  Memorial Services were held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Bonnie Tate

1947-2017

Services for Bonnie Mae Tate, 69, of Edgewood, were held Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Edgewood, with Bro. Bryan Easley officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.

Mrs. Tate passed away March 8, 2017, at her home in Edgewood.  She was born July 16, 1947, in Aspermont.

Billy Ray Knox

1934-2017

Billy Ray Knox, 82, of Terrell, passed away March 5, 2017, in Plano. He was born on Oct. 7, 1934, in Canton.

He loved to travel, hunt, fish, bowl, and play golf.  He graduated high school from Canton in 1953, served in the Army and went to Texas A&M.  He worked 47 years for Southern Union Gas Company.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Maudie Irene Knox; brother, Truman R Knox; and grandson Hunter Knox.

Billy Ray Knox

Billy Ray Knox, 82, of Terrell, passed away March 5, 2017, in Plano. He was born on Oct. 7, 1934, in Canton.

Betty Chambless

1938-2017

Services for Betty Beatrice White Chambless, 78, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with Bro. David Yarbrough officiating. Interment was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.

She passed away March 5, 2017, in Canton.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1938, in Winkler to Teague and Mamie Weaver Williams.

Zack Van Zandt

1937-2017

Zack Samuel Van Zandt, passed away on Saturday Feb. 25th in his home. He was born to Zack Wilson Van Zandt and Myra Candace Neal on Jan. 27, 1937 in Amarillo. He was 80 years old.

Services will be held Saturday March 11th at 10:30 at Countryside Baptist Church, 1390 South Main, Mansfield, 76063.

Troy Brimer

1957-2017

Troy Laveral Brimer, 59, of Emory, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 13, 2017, in Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.  He was born March 30, 1957.

Sarah McCarter

1942-2017

Services for Sarah Ballard McCarter, 75, of Grand Saline, were held Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Vaughn and Justin Collins officiating. Interment followed in Woodside Cemetery.

Mrs. McCarter passed away Feb. 26, 2017, at her home in Grand Saline. 

Opal Pierce

1934-2017

Opal Imogene Pierce “Jean” Pierce passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Tyler, Texas.  Jean was born on September 16, 1934 to Rufus and Flora Brown in Arkansas.  Jean married James Alton “Jim” Pierce on November 10, 1960 in Samoa, California.
