Katherine Virginia Waldrop, 87, of Emory, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, in Baylor Health Care System in Dallas.  She was born. Feb. 18, 1930.

Judy Ann Pugh

1946-2017

Service for Judy Ann Pugh, 70, of Canton, were held Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Glosup, Bro. Thomas James, and Bro. Jack Thompson officiating.

She passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 in Athens.

She was born July 4, 1946 in Dallas to Harley Usrey and Ima Novelle Cox.

James Horton

1934-2017

Services for James Robert (J.R.) (Bobby) (Slim) Horton, 82, of Ben Wheeler, were held Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.  

Graveside services followed at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.

He passed away suddenly at home in Ben Wheeler after a short illness on Feb. 28, 2017.

‘Bobby’ as he was known by his close friends and family was born on April 13, 1934, in Dallas to Taylor ‘TM’ and Winnie Elam Horton.   He grew up and attended school in Dallas.  He later moved to East Texas where he met the love of his life.

He married his sweetheart, Jo Lynn, in 1959 and they had their only daughter, Dianna the following year.

Gayther Heddins

1936-2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gayther Heddins on March 4, 2017. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife of 61 years, his son and daughter.

He was born in Edgewood, June 2, 1936, to Albert William Heddins and Eula Frances Parker Heddins. He was the youngest of nine children.

Dorthy Crabb

1934-2017

Dorthy Crabb, 82, of Emory, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in Tyler at Hospice of East Texas. 

She was born Sept. 4, 1934, in Dallas. 

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.

Charles Erickson

1933-2017

A memorial service for Charles Raymond Erickson, 83, of Canton, will be held at 1 pm Friday, March 3, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church with Bro. Carlton Young officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home.

He passed away Feb. 25, 2017 in Tyler. He was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Phoenix, Ariz., to William H. and Florence Therese Wilson Erickson.

Anthony Swindle

1920-2017

Graveside service for Anthony L. "Tony" Swindle was held Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Haven of Memories in Canton with Bro. Don Crisp Teague officiating.

He went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 26, 2017 in Kemp.

He was born on Feb.16, 1920 in the Wise Community of Van Zandt County.

Venita Roberts

1930-2017

Services for Venita Roberts, 86, of Canton, were held Monday, Feb. 27, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Max Callahan officiating.

A family graveside was held at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill.

She passed away Feb. 24, 2017, in Tyler.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1930, in the Hiram Community of Van Zandt County to T.L. and Eilene Green Mewbourn. 

She loved babysitting her grandchildren, cooking, fishing and being outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne B. Roberts; grandson, Cory Roberts; brother, Robert Mewbourn and sister, Norma Johnson.

Marshall Heddin

1930-2017

Services for Marshall P. Heddin, 86, of Grand Saline, were held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.

Interment was in Creagleville Cemetery.

He passed away Feb. 20, 2017, at his home in Grand Saline.  He was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Edgewood to Albert William and Eula Francis Parker Heddin.  He worked for Ford Motor Company until it closed (1954-1958) and then began working at Morton Salt in 1959 until his retirement in 1992, after 33 years of service.  He had also been a farm and rancher since 1956.  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Osa, Haskell, Kirby, Irby Lee, and Ray; two sisters, Hazel Parkerson and Margie Smith; and grandson, Adam Carroll.

Frank Corry Sr.

1933-2017

Services for Frank Corry Sr. were held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Canton, with Bro. Jerry Truett officiating, under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home. 

Visitation was held at the church before the service. He was laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Canton.

Frank Augustus Corry Sr. was born July 21, 1933 in Huntsville and passed away at the age of 83 on Feb. 21, 2017, in Canton. 

He had been a resident of Canton all of his life, and was a member of Brookside Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was self-employed.  He, along with his wife, Norma, opened the first mobile home sales business in Canton.
