Devon Baugh

1928-2015

Services for Devon Baugh, 87, of Canton were held Oct. 3, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Burns, Harold Hearn and Jerry Don Stanger officiating.  Interment was in Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Baugh died Oct. 1, 2015, at his home in Canton. 

He was born July 30, 1928, in Myrtle Springs to Jesse Washington and Monnie Geneva Bateman Baugh.

He was a longtime member of the Word of Victory Church in Canton. 

Having been born and raised in Highland, he attended school in Highland and graduated from Edgewood High School.  He married the love of his life, Dorothy Vance, in 1948.  He was drafted into the Army in December 1950 and served two and a half years during the Korean Conflict. 

Beverley Beckham

1930-2015

Services for Beverley Beckham, 85, of Grand Saline, were held Oct. 21, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Pedersen and Bro. Jon Clark officiating. Interment was in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.

Ms. Beckham died Oct. 18, 2015, at her home in Grand Saline.  She was born March 16, 1930, in Edmond, Okla.

Betty Tidmore

1937-2015

Services for Betty Warren Tidmore, 77, of Murchison were held Oct. 17, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bobby Myers officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Burial will be in the Tidmore Cemetery, Martins Mill.

Mrs. Tidmore passed away Oct. 14, 2015, in Tyler.  She was born Dec. 18, 1937 in Athens to William Jesse and Alta Berry Warren.  

She was a longtime member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.  She retired from Sears after 30 years and had worked for Paul Michael Company for the past 17 years.  Betty enjoyed reading and spending time with her only grandchild, Hayleigh.  She loved the Lord, her family and friends.

Mrs. Tidmore is preceded in death by her husband, Berneill Tidmore; parents; two brothers, J.T. Warren and Ben Warren; and three sisters, Lorene Wright, Pauline Cook and Opal Jackson.

Fay Steele

1928-2015

Services for Fay Steele, 87, of Grand Saline, were held Oct. 14, 2015, at Main Street Baptist Church under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.

Burial was in Haven of Memories, Canton.

Mrs. Steele passed away Oct. 11, 2015, in Tyler.  She was born July 28, 1928

Thelma Weddle

1912-2015

Thelma Grace Weddle, 102, of Emory, formerly of California, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at the Senior Suite Care and Rehab in Emory.

She was born Oct. 7, 1912.

Teresa Fortner

1956-2015

Services for Teresa Ann Fortner, 59, of Wills Point were held Oct. 14, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen DeVille officiating.  Interment was at Haven of Memories in Canton.

Teresa Fortner passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, in Tyler.

She was born Sept. 14, 1956, in Dallas to Monroe and Dorothy Nelson.

She grew up in the Pleasant Grove Community and graduated from W.W. Samuels High School.

She married Richard Fortner Oct. 3, 1991, and they lived in Garland for several years before moving to Wills Point in 2000. Teresa had a great love for dogs and would always have a home for one in need. She enjoyed writing letters, traveling and mowing the yard.

Mrs. Fortner is preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Dorothy Nelson; son, Michael Fortner; sister, Margaret and Jerry Weldon; and brother-in-law, William Fortner.

Rue Curry

1939-2015

Services for Rue Curry, 76, of Phalba, were held Oct.13, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Chaplain Donald Kile officiating.  Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery. 

Ms. Curry passed away Oct. 9, 2015, in Athens.  She was born March 5, 1939, in Hunt County to Elmer and Opal French Mitchell. 

She grew up in Plano and worked for an insurance company in Dallas for many years.  She and her husband, Paul, retired to Phalba in 1980.  She was a member of the China Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking.  She was loved and respected by her children.  

Ms. Curry is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ray Curry; her parents and a granddaughter, Tracy Ann Prewitt. 

Paul Holbrook

1945-2015

A memorial celebration of the life of Paul Edward Holbrook, 70, of Yantis, will be held at

2 p.m.  Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory. 

Mr. Holbrook died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, in Houston, at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Hospital.

Jack DuBose

1953-2015

Jackie Marvin DuBose Sr. was born Dec. 12, 1953, in Mesquite and died Oct. 9, 2015, in Ben Wheeler.  He had been a resident of Ben Wheeler for two years, formerly living in Farmers Branch and was a US Army veteran.

Jack DuBose was preceded in death by his father, Oscar DuBose; mother, Melba Linderman; and brother, James DuBose.

Mr. DuBose is survived by his wife, Michele Rae DuBose of Ben Wheeler; three sons, Jeffrey Mack DuBose, Joseph Michael DuBose and Jacky Marvin DuBose II; brother, John DuBose; 17 grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Monica DuBose, LaToya DuBose, Arginta Primm and Jessica DuBose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
