Amanda Reed

1970-2015

Memorial services for Amanda Kay Peden Reed were held Oct. 15, 2015, at Hilliard Funeral Home.

Amanda Reed was born Dec. 5, 1970, in Grand Saline and passed away at the age of 44 on Oct. 10, 2015, in Athens. 

She was a resident of Canton, formerly living in Grand Saline.  She was self-employed, working in the electrical business, and loved to travel in her free time.

Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her grandparents, L.J. and Dona Fisher and Willie and Vernie Peden.

Gaylord McDonald

1941-2015

Gaylord Lee McDonald, 74, of Point, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at his home. 

Cremation arrangements are pending with Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory.  

Brady Sneed

1938-2015

Funeral services for Brady Delano Sneed, 77, of Alba, were held Oct. 6, 2015, at Emory Baptist Church, with Bro. Richard Pile officiating.

 Interment was in Emory City Cemetery.

Brady Sneed died Sept. 29, 2015, at the VA Hospital in Dallas.  He was born May 28, 1938, in Ringwood, Okla.

Nelma Byford

1928-2015

Services for Nelma Mae Byford, 86, of Blum were held Oct. 8, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. James Massey officiating.  Interment followed in Woodside Cemetery.

Nelma Byford passed away Oct. 5, 2015, in Tyler. She was born Nov. 4, 1928, in Grand Saline. 

Mildred Teel

1922-2015

Services for Mildred Frances Teel, 92, of Canton, were held Oct. 6, 2015, at the Church of Christ on Highway 243 in Canton, with Paul Fike officiating, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home of Terrell. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Interment was in the Highland Memorial Gardens in Terrell.

Mildred Teel passed away Oct. 2, 2015, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

She was born in Elmo Nov. 22, 1922, to Thomas and Callie Tallent and grew up in the Hiram Community and also attended school there.  

She married the love of her life, Wilford Teel Aug. 10, 1942, in San Antonio.  They were blessed with two sons, Nathan and Jerry. 

She worked at Sears and Roebuck in Dallas until her retirement.  She lived out her retirement years in Terrell, Lawrence and Canton.

June Kilstrom

1934-2015

Memorial Services for June Carolyn Kilstrom were held Sept. 26, 2015, at Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home Chapel in Irving.  Dr. Causey E. Gram III officiated. 

Inurment will be held at 10:15 a.m. Oct. 9, 2015, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.

Carolyn Kilstrom was born in Delight, Ark., June 14, 1934. She passed away Sept. 19, 2015, at the age of 81. 

She was preceded in death by her husband for 40 years, Wilford Marvin “Red” Kilstrom; her parents, Jewel Edward Lewallen and Alma Louise Cook; and granddaughter, Lovia Frances Fegan-Smith.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Edward “Eddie” Smith, Terry Lee Smith and Gary Wayne Smith; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Matthew Smith, Nicole Carol Baker, Spencer Smith, Chase Smith and Mason Smith; as well as several great-grandchildren. 

John Yarbrough

1979-2015

Memorial services for John Austin Yarbrough, 35, of Arlington are scheduled for 1p.m. Saturday, Oct., 10, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Troy Drake officiating.

John Yarbrough passed away Oct. 1, 2015, in Tyler.

He was born Nov. 15, 1979, in Longview to John and Tamey Anderson Yarbrough, Jr.

He went to school at Hurst Euless Bedford ISD and then attended Tarrant County Community College. He was a business analyst at Trinity Industries. He was a very creative young man and enjoyed building and engineering.

Mr. Yarbrough is preceded in death by his mother, Tamey Anderson Wells.

He is survived by his father, John Yarbrough

James Powell

1933-2015

James Powell, 82, of Terrell, passed away Oct. 3, 2015.  James was born in Lone Oak to Denton and Hazel Fortenberry Powell, both of whom preceded him in death along with his daughter, Deborah Pyles; brother, Joe Powell; and niece, Tammy Powell.

He was a well-known and well respected rancher and he was a longtime resident of the Terrell area since 1972.

James is survived by his wife, Bettye; children, Jimmy, Betsy , Becky and husband, Carl Bates, Rick, Vicki Kay and husband, Clarence Flinn, Rob, and Rusty and wife, Angie Powell; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and; 1 great-great grandchild as well as many other extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Oct. 7, 2015, at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel. A private interment followed. 

Douglas Yarbrough

1968-2015

Graveside services for Douglas Roy Yarbrough, 46, of Kaufman, were held Oct. 2, 2015, at Haven of Memories in Canton with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating.

Douglas Yarbrough passed away Sept, 29, 2015, in Kaufman.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1968, in Dallas to David and Karran McCasland Yarbrough.

He grew up in Kaufman and played football for Kaufman ISD. He loved working on cars and was especially talented in the use of computers.  He enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Mr. Yarbrough is preceded in death by his mother.

Devon Baugh

1928-2015

Services for Devon Baugh, 87, of Canton were held Oct. 3, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Burns, Harold Hearn and Jerry Don Stanger officiating.  Interment was in Highland Cemetery.

Devon Baugh passed away Oct. 1, 2015, at his home in Canton.  He was born July 30, 1928, in Myrtle Springs to Jesse Washington and Monnie Geneva Bateman Baugh.

He was a longtime member of the Word of Victory Church in Canton. 

Having been born and raised in Highland, he attended school in Highland and graduated from Edgewood High School.  He married the love of his life, Dorothy Vance in 1948.
