Donald Cross

1947-2015

Services for Donald Harvey Cross, 67, of Emory, were held Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at First Assembly of God Church, in Emory.  Bro. Montie Parker officiated the funeral service at the church and Bro. Mike Fletcher conducted the graveside service. 

Interment was in Woosley Cemetery.  Mr. Cross passed away in Tyler, Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015.  

He was born Nov. 11, 1947 in Fort Myers, Fla.

Wanda Bailey

1926-2015

Memorial services for Wanda Bailey, 89, of Tyler, formerly of Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Canton with the Rev. Donnie Barron officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home.  Inurnment will be in Haven of Memories in Canton. 

Mrs. Bailey passed away Sept. 6, 2015, in Jacksonville.  She was born June 20, 1926, in Canton to William Edgar and Elizabeth Jeanette Milling Ogletree. 

Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton.  She married James Douglas Bailey in 1943.  Wanda retired from the Baptist Standard after 35 years of service.  She and Doug lived in Dallas until they retired and moved to Canton.  Wanda enjoyed her children, grandchildren and traveling during her retirement. 

Roland Chamblee

1922-2015

Funeral services for Roland Chamblee, 93, of Mineola, were held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton. The Rev. Steve Glosup officiated.  Burial followed in Old Bethel Cemetery.

Roland went to be with the Lord Sept. 1, 2015, in Quitman.  Roland was born July 4, 1922, to the late R. F. (Dutch) Chamblee and Oma Thormahlen Chamblee.  He grew up in the Old Bethel community.  He attended school at Old Bethel, Canton and attended North Texas Agriculture College in Arlington.

Roland worked in Defense Plants in California and Garland before going into the Air Force in World War II.  He served three years in the Air Force Transport Command.  One of which was in Libya, North Africa.  While stationed in North Africa, he was blessed with the opportunity to spend 10 days in the Holy Land and to visit Cario Egypt and the Pyramids.

David Arndt

1942-2015

Memorial services for David Arndt, 72, of Grand Saline were held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home.

Mr. Arndt passed away Aug. 31, 2015, in Tyler.  He was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Glencoe, Minn. to Donald Edward and Rosella Emma Freida Benkowski Arndt.  He had lived in Minnesota and Dallas before moving to Grand Saline in 1973. David served in the U.S. Navy.

He was the owner and operator of B & B Farm Supply in Grand Saline.  David never met a stranger, his coffee pot was always on and he loved to sit and visit with everyone.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first son-in-law, Jim White.

Vicki Coleman

1947-2015

Vicki Coleman, 67, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Sunny Springs Nursing Home in Sulphur Springs.  Vicki was born Dec. 5, 1947.  No services are scheduled at this time.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.

Ricky Bing

1953-2015

Ricky Lynn Bing was born in Dallas County to Henry Ray and Billie Jo Richardson Bing March 9, 1953. Rick or “Bear” as he was known, passed away from his earthly home Aug. 24, 2015, at his home in Van Zandt County.

Bear lived his early life in the Balch Springs and Pleasant Grove area of Dallas and attended among others Dallas schools, H.D. Grady Spruce High School. 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a machinist by trade. Rick was an electrician, plumber, carpenter and truck driver. There was not a job he would not try to master.

One of his best memories was riding motorcycles with his buddies. He loved bass fishing and he loved his dogs.

Pennye Wise

1962-2015

Services for Pennye Renea Wise, 52, of Edgewood, were held Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Roundflat Pentecostal Church. Bro. Homer Morgan officiated.

Interment followed in Small Cemetery, Edgewood. Pennye passed away Aug. 29, 2015, in a Tyler hospice.  She was born Nov. 6, 1962, in Grand Saline.  

Kenneth Williams

1933-2015

Services for Mr. Kenneth Dale Williams Sr., 81, of Gun Barrel City, formerly of Grand Saline, were held Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Riverside Mission Church with Bro. Donnie Herring and Sister Delana Wheeler officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.

Interment was in Woodside Cemetery.

 Mr. Williams passed away Aug. 28, 2015, at his home.  He was born Nov. 25, 1933, in Grand Saline, Sand Flat Community

Jimmie Spence

1942-2015

Graveside services for Jimmie Dean Spence, 76, of Emory, was held Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery #1 near Emory. 

Mr. Spence died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, in Caddo Mills.  He was born May 5, 1942, in Emory.

Jack Lawson

1938-2015

Jack Wayne Lawson, 76, of Emory, passed away suddenly Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at his residence.  He was born Nov. 9, 1938, in Houston.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.
