Wilma Chamblee

1934-2015

Services for Wilma Eunice Chamblee, 81, of Canton were held Sept. 14, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.  Bro. Steve Glosup officiated. Interment was in Haven of Memories in Canton.

Mrs. Chamblee passed away Sept. 9, 2015, in Canton. 

Wilma Eunice Chamblee was born July 5, 1934, in Canton to Nolan Alexander and Mary Ethyl Smith Groom.

She was a member of Wallace United Methodist Church and Easter Star. She grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School at the age of 16. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and traveling.

Mrs. Chamblee was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, L.M. Lawley and Bob Chamblee; daughter, Lynna Lawley; brother, Marlin Groom and sisters, Hattie Gillispie, Alpha Lunsford and Margaret Taylor.

Ronnie Leach

1952-2015

Services for Ronnie Leach, 63, of Wills Point, were held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Marc Farnell and Bro. Jimmy Leach officiating.

He passed away Sept. 4, 2015, in Wills Point.

Ronnie was born on Jan. 23, 1952, in Canton to Joseph Carlton and Audie Mae Wharton Leach.

Graveside service and interment was in High Cemetery.

Ronnie grew up in Van Zandt County and attended school in Van. He enjoyed talking to people, sports, casinos and traveling. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joy Leach; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Ronald Malone

1950-2015

Ronald Earl Malone, 65, of Canton, passed away  Sept. 6, 2015 in Tyler. 

He was born July 12, 1950, in Lindale.

Onetia Burrage

1924-2015

Services for Onetia “Nita” Burrage, 90, of Canton, were held Sept. 13, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton.  Bro. Mike Roberson officiated.  Burial was in Haven of Memories.

Mrs. Oneita Burrage passed away Sept. 10, 2015, at her home in Canton. 

She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Canton to Leon and Lopez Williams Cox. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton.  She was a lifelong resident of Canton. 

She retired in 1979 after teaching fifth grade for 30 years. 

She was an avid golfer until her health prevented her from playing.  She had a great love for reading and was a supporter of the Van Zandt County Library. 

Mrs. Burrage is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Lopez Cox; and her husband, Marcus Burrage.

Keith Lowe

1962-2015

A visitation was held for Keith Lowe Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Hilliard Funeral Home, with a private family memorial service to be held at a later date.

Keith Evan Lowe was born Oct. 21, 1962, in Arlington and passed away at the age of 52 on Sept. 1, 2015.

Jimmie Davis

1947-2015

Services for Jimmy Clyde Davis, 68, of Grand Saline, were held Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Lindsey Ray and Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.

Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery.

Mr. Davis passed away Sept. 8, 2015, at his home in Grand Saline. 

He was born Feb. 14, 1947, in Grand Saline.

Inez Robinson

1920-2015

A celebration of life was held for Inez Robinson  Thursday, Sep. 10, 2015, at Oak Grove Baptist Church.  The Rev. Randy Crudgington officiated. Visitation was held an hour before the service. Burial was  in Myrtle Springs Cemetery - no services were held at the cemetery.
Bertha Inez Featherson Robinson was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Martins Mill and passed away at the age of 95 on Sept. 6, 2015. She had been a resident of Canton since 2011, formerly living in Wills Point since the 1970s.

Greta Gibson

1934-2015

Memorial services for Greta Gibson, 80, Ben Wheeler, were held Sept. 12 at Heritage Trail Cowboy Church in Ben Wheeler with Brian Jason Cole officiating.

Mrs. Gibson passed away Sept. 9, 2015, in Tyler.

She was born Nov. 27, 1934 in Wylie.

Etta McLeod

1948-2015

Services for Etta Bernice McLeod were held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Ola Cemetery in Kaufman with Bro. Casey Cook officiating. Visitation was held at Hilliard Funeral Home in Van on Friday evening.
Etta Bernice Lee McLeod was born Nov. 21, 1948, in Athens and passed away at the age of 66 on Sept. 6, 2015, in Athens.

She had been a resident of Mabank for 17 years, formerly living in Dallas. She worked as a computer operator for JP Morgan in earlier years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Higgins Lee and Prebble Harris Lee; and brother, Roy Lee.
Survivors include her husband, Roy McLeod of Mabank; two daughters, Mary Mitchell and Crystal Coleman, both of Kemp; four step-children; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Dr. Wayne Humphries

1935-2015

Funeral Services for Dr. M. Wayne Humphries, 80, of Tyler were held Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Wayne passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, in Tyler.

He was born April 5, 1935, in Small to the late James Thomas (JT) Humphries and Robbie Hindman Sanders. 

Wayne graduated from Edgewood High School, received his degree at Baylor University and graduated Baylor Medical School of Dentistry in 1968. He practiced dentistry in Tyler for 41 years and received the Texas Dental Association 50-Year Award and the Crystal Smiles Award in 2009.
