Graveside services for Mary Ann Taylor Murillo, 67, of Grand Saline were held Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Cedars Memorial Gardens in Mineola with Bro. Randy Fisher officiating.

Mrs. Murillo passed away July 22, 2015, in Grand Saline.  She was born Jan. 19, 1948, in Mineola.

Katherine Dent

1931-2015

Graveside services for Katherine Dent, 83, of Kaufman were held Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Woodside Cemetery.

Mrs. Dent passed away July 24 in Kaufman.  She was born August 18, 1931, in Grand Saline.

Floyd Stewart

1925-2015

Services for Floyd T. Stewart, 90, Grand Saline, were held July 29, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.

Interment was in Haven of Memories, Canton.

Evonne Briggs

1937-2015

Services for Mavis Evonne Briggs, 78, of Hot Springs, Ark., were held Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs, Ark.  Burial was in Crestview Memorial Park.

Evonne passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, in Canton.

She was born on July 18, 1937 in Hot Springs, Ark., to Clifton Lee and Pauline House.

Evonne grew up in Hot Springs and was a cheerleader throughout high school. She was a faithful military wife to Bobby Gene Briggs for several years. Evonne was a member at First Christian Church of Hot Springs and secretary of The Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed several hobbies such as scrapbooking, playing piano, traveling, decorating and crocheting. Evonne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.            

Annette Hiller

1935-2015

Annette Hiller, 80, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Mesquite, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, in Oklahoma City.  The daughter of Luther Boyd Strickland and Lottie Francis (Phillips) Strickland, she was born Jan. 28, 1935, in Martins Mill.

Funeral service was held Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.  Burial was in the Holly Springs Cemetery near Ben Wheeler.

Annette married Fred L. Hiller on Feb. 18, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nev. She worked as an Avon Representative for many years.  Annette was a member of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite where she was actively involved in various ministries.  In her spare time, she enjoyed going to garage sales and travelling with her husband.

Ralph Mesch

1937-2015

Ralph Charles Mesch, 77, of Ben Wheeler, passed away July 16, 2015, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, following a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

He was born Nov. 29, 1937, in Denver, Colo. to the late Daniel John Mesch and Clara Wilemina (Becker) Mesch.  He was one of four Mesch sons, all of whom are from the Denver area and served in the United States Navy.  

Ralph served 28 years and retired as a Navy Master Chief.  While on active duty one of his critical jobs was the packing parachutes for Navy pilots, but he was quickly promoted to maintenance supervisor. He served in Olathe, Kan.; Washington, D.C.; Almeda, Calif.; Jacksonville, Fla.; and NAS Dallas Grand Prairie. 

Tommy ‘Buck’ Reed

1967-2015

Tommy “Buck” Lee Reed Jr., 48, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2015, from natural causes in Canton. 

Tommy was born in Grand Saline, and was a lifelong resident of Canton. From his early years, he was surrounded by both family and nature which developed two passions he would carry with him his whole life.

Shortly before graduating from Canton High School in 1985, Tommy began working in Oaks Village Grocery. He quickly showed an interest in the meat market there and developed skills that he would display under the employment of Brookshire’s and rising quickly to a managerial position.

Novelee Barron

1929-2015

Services for Novelee Lavern Barron, 85, of Canton, were held Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Eubank Funeral Home, with Bro. Billy Bob Dempsey.  Interment was at Haven of Memories in Canton.

She passed away July 16, 2015 in Tyler, 

Novelee was born Dec. 1, 1929 in Canton to Lester and Maggie Stone.

She grew up in the Tundra and Mabank Communities, and attended school at Whitehall. She was Baptist by faith and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and gardening. Novelee especially loved her flowers.

Novelee is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Maggie Stone; husband, J.W. Barron Jr.; daughters, Beverly Hunsaker and Kathy Roden; daughter-in-law, Peggy Barron; son-in-law, Joe Hunsaker, and five brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Ricky and James Rex Barron; daughter, Maresa and John Campbell;

Johnie McRoy

1951-2015

James Harrison

1954-2015

James "Jim" "JB" "Jimmy" Harrison, age 61, of Point, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. 

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory.  Memorial Service is pending at this time.
