Services Dorothy Simpson Burrow, 90, of Fruitvale, were held Tuesday, Aug.  11, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton. Bro. L.A. Goodson and Bro. Ronnie Daniell officiated.  Burial was in Haven of Memories. 

Mrs. Burrow passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, in Grand Saline.  She was born June 14, 1925, in Garden Valley to Arthur Lee and Evie Leona Williamson Smith. 

Dorothy was a member of the Lawrence Springs Baptist Church.  She lived in Van Zandt County all of her life.  Dorothy retired from the First National Bank in Grand Saline after 30 years.  As a mother and grandmother, Dorothy was always loving and caring.  She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crossword puzzles, puzzles, and traveling.  Dorothy loved singing.

Mrs. Burrow was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 38 years, Keith L. Simpson; six brothers; and two sisters.

Services for Daisy Eugenia Melton Parker, 91, of  Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton,  with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Burial will be in Haven of Memories in Canton.

Mrs. Parker passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, in Tyler. She was born June 24, 1924, in the Jackson Community to William and Leona Tucker Melton.

Daisy was married to her faithful husband, Clifton, on March 18, 1944, in Kaufman. They were married for 59 years until his death. She was a great cook, enjoyed traveling and camping. She loved her family, especially, her grandchildren.  Daisy loved her Lord, and she was a faithful servant and member of Tundra Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed.

Services for Clara Charlesia Hewitt, 92, of Point, were held Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Interment was at Starr Cemetery in Canton.

She passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, in Point.

Clara was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Grand Saline to John and Cora King.

She grew up in Grand Saline and moved to Point with her late husband in 1969. Clara enjoyed fishing, gardening and family. After her husband’s passing, Clara served as an elder at Freebridge Baptist Church. She was a very faithful woman with a witty sense of humor who loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Clara is survived by multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Charles Kenneth Bourquin was born on Feb. 22, 1946 in Dallas to Lillie Mae (Nichelson) and Ernest Edward Bourquin. He passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015, in Canton.

Charles was preceded in death by both parents; his brothers, Bobby Boker and Edwin Bourquin; sisters, Ola Mae Monico, Burnice Yates, and Lois Reynolds, and his granddaughter, Natalie Ann Whitehead.

Services for Marie Whitton Baker, 67, of Whitton, were held Saturday, July 18, at Eubank Funeral Home, with Pastor Bimmy Boyles and Wayne Word officiating.  Interment was in the Tarver Cemetery.

She passed away July 15 in Tyler. Marie was born on July 16, 1947, to Spencer and Huleen Whitton.          

Mrs. Baker lived most of her life in the Whitton Community where she was a member of the Whitton Church of Christ. She had a strong will to live and always put everyone else first. Marie enjoyed working in her flower garden until her health would not allow it.  She really loved her family and her grandchildren.

Jan Brooks was born Dec. 27, 1951.  She was taken to her home in Heaven July 26, 2015. 

Jan is survived by her husband of 28 years, Scott E. Brooks; son, Fed C. Smetak;  son Joshua J. Smetak and wife, Robin and seven grandchildren. 

May she rest in peace in the hands of her Lord.

Services for Ilene Ray Brown, 90, of Canton were held on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015 at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel.  Bro Jim Leach officiated the service.  

 Burial was at Haven of Memories, Canton.

Mrs. Brown passed away July 30, 2015, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

Mrs. Brown was born July 2, 1925, to Robert Lee Ray and Edith Beatrice Leach Ray of Wallace Community.  After graduating from Canton High School in 1941, she attended Westminster College and was salutatorian of her class.  She then went to Mary Hardin Baylor and received a degree in elementary education.

Her teaching career, which spanned 33 years, began in small rural schools during World War II.  After graduating from college, she began teaching fifth grade in Seagoville.

Funeral services for Terri Lynn Boswell McBay, 58, of Edgewood, were held Saturday, July 25, 2015, at New Journey Church of God in Edgewood with Bishop Casey Cook, Minister Peggy Harris and Minister Anthony Prox officiating. 

Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away early Wednesday morning, July 22, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Terri was born Nov. 13, 1956, in Oak Cliff, the daughter of Clifford Warren Boswell and Mildred Walker Boswell.

 She was raised in the Oak Cliff area and graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas. 

On Aug.  9, 1974, she married Gary McBay in Oak Cliff.  Terri lived in DeSoto prior to moving to Edgewood in 2005.

Ruth Kennimer Whitehead, 88, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Emory, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015. 

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Emory.   Interment followed in Yantis Cemetery.  

Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory handled the arrangements.

Mildred Williams was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Mt. Calm and passed away July 25, 2015 in Grand Saline at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Williams; brother, Bernice Owing; mother, Minnie Holder and grandson, Anthony Hill.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Joan Hill; grandson, Jimmy Hill; grandson, Tony Hill and great granddaughter, Amanda Traister.

Services were held on July 28, at Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
