Services for Rosie Lee Reid, 87, of Edgewood, were held  Saturday, Aug. 15 at Eubank Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Johnson officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill in Edgewood.

Mrs. Reid passed away Aug. 11 in Edgewood.

Rosie was born on July 25, 1928, in Van to James and Gladsie Kirby Pearce.

Rosie was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, play day with her siblings, girl’s weekends, watching westerns, family holiday gatherings, collecting angels, trips with her friend Sandy in her 18 wheeler and playing dominoes.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Gorman Reid; parents, James and Gladsie Pearce; one great-granddaughter, Chasslyn Colombrito; great-great granddaughter, Miranda Pitts; sister, Audrey Hindman; and brothers Edward, Ray and R.A Pearce.

Raymond Melvin Howser, 71, Canton, passed away July 18, 2015, in Tyler, surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Quincy, Ill., to the late Donald Marvin Howser Sr. and Marie Dorothy Krogman Howser. He served in the US Navy and was retired from Vons Department Store as a manager. He had lived in Canton for 12 years, moving from Sun City, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Howser in 2008.

Survivors include his son, Steve Howser and wife, Becky of Cypress, Calif.; brothers, Don Howser of Texas and Gerald Howser of Oregon; three grandchildren, Ashley Howser of Lubbock, Brittany Howser and Crystal Howser of Cypress, Calif.

Melvin Weisz

Services for Melvin G. Weisz, 92, of Grand Saline, were held Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Canton with Rev. Jon Thornsbury officiating.

He passed away Aug. 11, 2015, in Canton.  

Melvin was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Underwood, N.D., to Albert and Rosina Weisz.

Interment was in Corinth Cemetery.

Melvin grew up in Colorado and served in the Army from 1939 to 1945 during WWII. He worked at DISD for 32 years before retiring in 1982. Melvin enjoyed antique cars and woodworking in his spare time. He was a member of FUMC in Canton.

Melvin was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Funeral service for Otis James, O.J., Wade, 86, of Emory, was held Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at Emory United Methodist Church.  Interment followed in Smyrna Cemetery. 

Mr. Wade died early Monday morning at his residence.  He was born Nov. 25, 1928.

Funeral services for Eva Elaine Parkman, 85, of Emory, was held Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Lake Fork Baptist Church.  Interment followed in Elm Cemetery.  Mrs. Parkman died in Decatur, at Wise Regional Hospital, on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015.  She was born Dec. 30, 1929.

Dr. Elaine Graybill

Services for Dr. Elaine Graybill, 77, of Plano, formerly of Canton, were held Thursday, Aug 20, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.   Interment will be in Haven of Memories Memorial Park.

Dr. Graybill was born Oct. 17, 1937 in New Orleans, La. to the late William A. and Irma Larcade d’Entremont.  She passed away Aug. 16, 2015, in Plano.

Elaine was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton and numerous professional organizations related to foreign language arts. 

Dr. Graybill was an educator for 40 years at the University of Texas, Southwestern University at Georgetown and Tyler Junior College.  She was also a docent at the Tyler Museum of Art.

Charles A. Calhoun passes away  Aug. 13, 2015.  Services were held at Moore Chapel at Ola Cemetery  Aug. 17, 2015.  Charles was born May 20, 1936.

He is survived by his son, Randy Byars; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Byars; granddaughters, Amber Byars and Kassidee Bennett; and great-granddaughter, Payton Byars.

Thomas Ray Lewis was born March 6, 1950, in Sulphur, Okla.  He had lived in Fruitvale.  Thomas had moved to Lubbock where he passed away Aug. 1, 2015.

He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Lewis; son, Thomas R. Lewis Jr.; daughter, Monica Lewis; brother, James E. Lewis and many other family members.

Services for Mr. James Leonard Willis, 82, Fruitvale, were held Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. David Hicks officiating. Interment was in Creagleville Cemetery.

Mr. Willis passed away Aug. 6, 2015, at his home in Fruitvale.  He was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Ruston, La.
