Gale Tawater

Gale Tawater

1950-2015

Services for Cecil Gale Tawater, 65, of Canton were held Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton, with Bro. Ronnie Daniell officiating. 

Interment was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Tawater passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, in Tyler.  He was born March 27, 1950, in Tyler to Cecil J. and Zelma Pruiett Tawater. 

Gale was a Methodist by faith.  He retired after 32 years with TxDOT.  Gale loved to spend time outdoors doing such things as fishing, collecting rocks, arrow heads and seashells, spending time with his dog, trips to the beach in Galveston and traveling to Oklahoma.  Gale also loved spending time with his family.  Mr. Tawater was a volunteer fireman for over 20 years with the Canton Fire Department.

Gale is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Tawater and his father.

Services for Essie Myrtle White, 105, of Martins Mill, were held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Wayne Barber officiating.

She passed away July 14, 2015, in Athens. 

Essie was born May 12, 1910, in Daylight, Tenn. to Walter and Hattie Paris.

Interment was at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill.

Essie moved to Martins Mill at the age of 9 and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Martins Mill Baptist Church. Essie married Newburn White at the age of 18 and they started their family together. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, being outdoors, cooking for her family and had an excellent sense of humor.

Services for Darla May Bilyeu, 68, of Ben Wheeler, were held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Heritage Trail Cowboy Church in Ben Wheeler, with Pastor C.R. Chapman officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Mrs. Bilyeu passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at home after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born April 28, 1947, in Annapolis, Md., to T. B. and Alice May Fleming Green. 

Darla was a member of the Heritage Trail Cowboy Church.  Her family was the most important thing in her life.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and nana.  Darla was very proud that both of her children became teachers.

Clyde Ray Wright, 92, of Tyler, formerly of Emory, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at Colonial Tyler Care Center. 

Military funeral services were held Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory. Glenn Cogburn officiated.

Interment followed in the Smyrna Cemetery.

Memorial Services for Ervin Lawrence Miller, 75, of Ben Wheeler, were held Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton. Chaplain Vic Willmann officiated.

Mr. Miller passed away July 7, 2015, at Canton Oaks.  He was born May 13, 1940, in Ben Wheeler, to Edgar Lawrence and Aulcie Louisa Ballard Miller. 

Ervin worked 34 years for AAF McQuary in Hutchins.  After retiring, he moved back to Ben Wheeler in 2005.  He enjoyed welding and telling stories. 

Ervin is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Milford Ladon Miller and a brother-in-law, Larry Williams.
