Services for Tony Bert Ogletree, 84, of Canton were held Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Canton with Bro. Mike Roberson and Max Callahan officiating. Interment was in Haven of Memories. 

He passed away May 17, 2018, at his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Canton to William Chester and Maggie Mae Talley Ogletree. 

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Graveside services for Mary Edith Weldon, 93, of Canton are scheduled for 10 a.m. Sunday May 27, 2018, at Cool Springs Cemetery. She passed away on May 13, 2018, in Winnsboro.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1924, in Edgewood to Homer Henry Chaney and Henryetta Wade.

Services for Jean Daugherty, 78, of Fruitvale, were held Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Roundflat Pentecostal Church with Bro. Homer Morgan and Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Interment was in Mount Olive Cemetery, Scurry.

She passed away May 12, 2018, in Grand Saline. She was born Nov. 27, 1939, in Grand Saline, to Homer and Mable Christopher Morgan.

A memorial service for Ernest Cunningham, 60, of Edgewood, was held Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at the Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. 

He passed away at his home on May 18, 2018. He was born Oct. 1, 1957 to George Washington and Nora Francine Lamb Cunningham.  

He was a lifelong resident of Edgewood and a Baptist by faith. He owned his own construction business for many years.

Services for Viola Douthit, 105, of Canton were held Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Don Brown and Max Callahan officiating. Interment was in Cool Springs Cemetery.

She passed away May 10, 2018, in Canton. She was born June 29, 1912, in Quinlan. 

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton where she taught children's and senior adult Sunday School for many years.

Services for Fred Thomas McGregor Sr., 92, of Frisco, formerly of Canton, were held Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Mike Roberson officiating. Graveside was held at Haven of Memories Memorial Park. He passed away on May 4, 2018, in Frisco.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1926, in Blytheville, Ark. to Eddie McGregor and Ophelia Kirby McGregor.

Patty “Patty” Jones Selman, 47, of Terrell, passed away unexpectedly, with her husband by her side, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas after being diagnosed with cancer on April 8, 2018.

She is survived by her best friend, husband and soulmate of 11 years, Allan B. Selman of Terrell; father, Hiram Jones of Wills Point; and sister, Suzanne Saint of Canton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Klara Jones.

Services for Wayne Gordon, 51, of Canton, were held Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Interment was at Haven of Memories in Canton.

He passed away May 4, 2018, in Tyler. He was born Nov. 16, 1966, in Mesquite, to Finnis Lee Gordon and Gloria Ann McGill.

He grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 1985. He worked for Canton Motors for nine years and Adams Hardwood for the past 12 years.

A memorial service for Robert William Culp, 67, of Garland, was held Friday, May 4, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wells and Byron Lawrence officiating.

Mr. Culp passed away April 30, 2018 in Dallas. He was born Oct. 31, 1950 in St. Catharines, Ontario.

He was a carpenter by trade. He also had a booth at First Monday where he sold woodwork for 12 years. Work was his hobby. 

Jeffery Keith LaFoy, 59, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was born to Carl and Kay Hernon LaFoy on April 30, 1959, in Hobbs, New Mexico. The family later moved to Mesquite.

He attended school in Mesquite until the family moved to Edgewood.  He graduated from Edgewood High School in 1977. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science in 1995.
